My mother was a teenager in the 50′s. I am wanting to have a sock hop party for her birthday. Any suggestions on decorating, food, etc.?

Definitely do a 50′s theme. You can find 45 rpm records and string them up with ribbon to hang from the ceiling. The party good stores have a lot of 50s themed products – plates, cups, cutouts, etc. You can hang them around the room. Be great if you could dress in the poodle skirt costume. Hamburgers and Hot-dogs and sodas in the old looking coke glasses would work as well. Cookies and or the cakes in the shape of a 45 record would complete the food.
Find CDs with 50s music to play during the party. Also, “Grease”, and Happy Days took place in the 50s, so you could do a theme from those.
Balloon Poodles in various bright colors would look good sitting on various tables, images posted below to help get those creative juices flowing!
I know you mom would certainly be thrilled with a 50s party. Let’s go to the sock hop!!!!!
