Question by abigail_1977: Having a 50th birthday party for my mom. it will be outside and during the day. How should I decorate.?
She has a huge backyard with lots of trees. I hate all of the 50′s decor they sell online.
It’s summer time over here.

try a pink theme with lots of flowers. You could also try wrapping the trees with pink paper or fabric just make sure everything is pink.

I’m having a 60th birthday Party for my Dad, how should i decorate?

Question by freebird06: I’m having a 60th birthday Party for my Dad, how should i decorate?
Like what kind of theme should i have and what colors? What about the centerpieces?

Best answer:

Answer by medical-t
Well there are a lot of 60 bd decorations but I would think a theme that goes along with what he likes would be cool like fishing theme, hunting/camouflage, sailing, construction, army, navy, western, etc. Decorate for the theme and have guests dress for it and have some games to go along with it and foods to match with it as well. I think that would be more fun. If you decide on a specific theme, repost for help again and we can give you specific ideas on decorating, food, activities, etc.

How should I decorate an 11 year old birthday party? What should I put in the goody bags?

Question by Lauren: How should I decorate an 11 year old birthday party? What should I put in the goody bags?
I am decorating my 10 year old (soon to be 11) sister’s birthday party and I need help with some decorating ideas. The party is just going to be a sleepover with 2 other friends and I want them to have a super fun time! My theme so far is just “a bunch of colors.” Any ideas that I could decorate my house with? I also need help with goody bags. I want some things that they will actually use to put in them. Remember, there are only 2 girls so I can use bigger and better stuff for the goody bags. Thanks!

Q&A: How to decorate for birthday party? Both kids on same day?

Question by Yvonne: How to decorate for birthday party? Both kids on same day?
My son will be 7 and my daughter will be 1 on October 6th. It wasn’t planned…no c-sections…it just happened. Anyways, I’m having a really hard time figuring out how to do this. One party is the easiest way to go as far as planning for everyone to come so two parties isn’t an option.

My son wants to do Transformers and I don’t know what to do for my daughter. Something princess or pink, of course. Disney Princess or Tinkerbell would be pretty. How would I go about decorating without it looking dumb?

We already have the cake figured out…his cake will be the “big” one to feed everyone and she’ll just have her smash cake. The party will pretty much be held in our (small) living room so I don’t know if I should do half the room one way and half the other?

Help??

That’s pretty cool that they share a birthday! Your idea is a good one. You don’t have to do huge decorations if you don’t want to, and your daughter won’t remember it anyway. Maybe you could decorate her high chair instead of the whole room this year.

In the future, it may be wise to do neutral decorations, and just have two cakes–one for him and one for her. They could be 1/8 sheet cakes instead of 1/4 if need be. Their cakes could be the decorations, and you do plain colored cups, plates, etc.

how do i decorate my lounge for a girly birthday party?

Question by Charlotte: how do i decorate my lounge for a girly birthday party?
its my 14th birthday party soon and I’m just having a small sleepover with a few friends, I’m really wanting the lounge (where we’re sleeping ) to be all done up in pink but it has to be quite small things ( ie no painting the walls or buying new sofas ) i was thinking things like something to cover the floor… any ideas… my mind is completely blank.

Thank youu <3

You might not be allowed to replace the sofa but you could cover it with pink sheets/blankets/throws. Or cover it in white and throw pink cushions on it.

A pink sheet could be pinned to the curtains. You could paint patterns on it with pink glitter to make it look more partyfied

Will your parent let you change the light bulb? You could get a pink one or at the very least a soft hue one, this will tone down all the furnishings that don’t fit in with your colour scheme. It doesn’t need to be a very powerful one either since you won’t be reading or anything like that. or take the bulb out of the ceiling light and just use a table lamp. Hang a pink scarf over the lampshade

Try the charity shops for pink furnishings or, if you can’t find any and your mum will let you buy white and dye it (if you do dye you need to make sure that the material will dye and that you buy the correct dye for it – cotton is easiest).

If your mum will let you you might advertise in the local shop asking if anyone is throwing out anything pink that you could use

Buy different colour pink satin ribbons (or wool) and pink balloons and tie them strategically around the room.

Pink floor is difficult because you will need to walk on it and you are probably running out of sheets but what about creating a pink border or a pink walkway using a cheap end-of-line wallpaper. Or cut out large pink flowers, pattern them with pink nail varnish and scatter them over the floor then them pin where they land. These could also go on the backs of doors and/or other surfaces that wouldn’t mark with a bit of sellotape or blutac. And you could use quilts in pink covers to make big ‘bean bags’ to sit on.

The wallpaper could also be cut up to make pink treat bags for your friends or to cover small boxes for the same purpose.

You could get some pink crepe paper and make some paper chains to hang around the room – maybe add some white or a different colour pink so that it doesn’t look too overpowering. As well as the paper chains you could cut and roll long strips of crepe paper and hang it as streamers from the ceiling. Are you any good at crafts? Crepe paper is good for making paper flowers with so you could make a bowl full of these

Pink marshmallows of course!

Hope that this has given you a start or, at least, got your mind going

Go to a special store like Party City. They have everything and they have some really neat things.Be careful though, you can spend a lot of money in there. I do like the ideas that you have. If it’s for a woman, by all means have some flowers. She will love it.

How should I decorate a pretty large room for a birthday party, provided that we’re all 16 years old?

Question by fun4cristi: How should I decorate a pretty large room for a birthday party, provided that we’re all 16 years old?
I am about to throw my 16th birthday party at a restaurant, but the thing is, the room isn’t decorated at all. It’s very nice, but the walls are blank. So, I would really enjoy some advice, about what to put on those walls, or what else to do with/in the room, to make the party more interesting and more fun… I am bringing my PC for the music, some large speakers, and I’m setting it to Party Mode. There will be some remixes, visualizations that go with the music on the monitor, but that’s about it so far….So, please, anyone that’s got any ideas, I’m dying to hear them!!

My sister wants to have a birthday/baptism party for my niece, Any ideas on how we can decorate?

Question by Joey’sGirl<3: My sister wants to have a birthday/baptism party for my niece, Any ideas on how we can decorate?
I’m not to happy about mixing the party’s together, but what can I do I’m just the auntie. Anyway she will be 3 years old, and I was thinking of a Tinker bell theme (Light green and pink), The girls will get fairy accessories (like wands) and the boys will get pirate accessories (like eye patches). Not sure about the games except for a treasure hunt. Since she will be having a baptism I was thinking of adding silver to the decorations. I really want her to have a tinker Bell birthday cake but I was also thinking of having mini cupcakes with white frosting, But I think that’s too much cake. Any other ideas for decorating, food and games?

Best answer:

Answer by azinum
Tinkerbell and Pirates.. broaden the theme by drawing more from Peter Pan- keep decorations pink and green, but throw in some nautical stuff around the party hall for Captain Hook’s ship and other Never Never Land things.

Have Tinkerbell cake, and name typical party food items in reference to Tinkerbell, the Lost Boys, and other characters and locations from the story.

Rather than games, opt for an activity that will keep kids busy for some time. Play the movie for them before they eat, and have kids decorate frames, paint their own Ts, or find other inspiration at an arts and crafts store.
