Very informative and entertaining, as well as fun! I actually think I may be able to do this, and can’t wait to give it a try! The host is no Martha… if she can tackle this and make it look enjoyable, I am willing to try too!

As interesting as this video is, I can`t watch it for too long bc the host in the fuschia pink top is HIGHLY ANNOYING. Other than that, I learned something important about decorating cupcakes.

@HollyBEDTalk , I never said they needed me to buy them, I am just saying I WOULDN’T buy them. I never said the cupcakes didn’t taste good, I said they just don’t look very nice.

  25. HollyBEDTalk June 12, 2010 at 3:23 pm #

I find it hilarious how people seem to think Magnolia can’t sell these cupcakes because they look “sloppy”. They DO sell cupcakes, they sell a LOT of them. They’re world famous! There’s a line to get these cupcakes. I prefer their banana pudding, but they’re very good cupcakes. mentioned in the Lonely Island’s “Lazy Sunday” video, too.

  26. HollyBEDTalk June 12, 2010 at 3:25 pm #

@princessmaya808 – they don’t need you to buy them – there’s a line out the door on a daily basis. Best cupcakes in the world.

Shane Dilk few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to ask if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids’ room, the father said,”Take the kids and get out of the house. We’ll call the police, we don’t have a clown statue.” The “clown statue” is really a killer that escap……………ed from jail.(true story)If you don’t post this letter on to 10 pagess tonight, the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand

@coygina If you’re looking for a more polished look, all you need is a pastry bag and large decorative tip of your choosing. That’s how our bakery frosts our cupcakes.

  32. himenohimitsudesu June 12, 2010 at 6:04 pm #

    messy, messy, messy….

  33. princessmaya808 June 12, 2010 at 6:11 pm #

Sorry but I wouldn’t buy those, you put wayyy too much icing on top and its kinda messy. The cupcakes look yummy though…

  34. linnlar June 12, 2010 at 6:49 pm #

…almost as pretty as my swedish cupcakes that I’m making in the latest episode of my cooking show!

  35. 24THEBAKER June 12, 2010 at 7:02 pm #

they are ugly what is she thinking. She must sell them for dirt cheep to get people to buy those

  36. Tara91176 June 12, 2010 at 8:29 pm #

i used a piping bag for the first time today and jeez talk about hassle!! i’ll go back to my palatte knife!!!

  37. mylove1 June 12, 2010 at 8:45 pm #

    that’s a lot of frosting.

  38. choco1154 June 12, 2010 at 9:45 pm #

    @crazyAZNshara

um, I’m definitely not a serious baker and i use a spatula. i think piping bags are a lot more hassle to use. it’s not that hard to find a spatula of that size. really. look in your stores.

  39. tiplika26 June 12, 2010 at 10:42 pm #

omg magnolia cupcakes have the best cupcakes even with all the icing!!!

  40. theresuga June 12, 2010 at 11:03 pm #

I’m a semi-serious home baker but I have a little palette knife like that (about half the size) it was only $5 so worth the cost I think!

However I’d NEVER put that much icing! It makes me teeth hurt just looking at it! :)

  41. crazyAZNshara June 12, 2010 at 11:28 pm #

how is that icing a cupcake like in a “home kitchen”? in MY home kitchen, I use a piping bag. Plus who has a spatula like THAT at home except serious bakers? Most average people would use a butter knife or spoon.

  42. SweetJessieGirl June 12, 2010 at 11:32 pm #

I dont like so much icing :(
