Ideas for an 11 year old girl birthday party?

Question by penguincity: Ideas for an 11 year old girl birthday party?
My sister is turning 11 soon and we’re not too sure on what to do. but here are some things we do know. she doesn’t like a party with a theme (just colors) so we don’t need help with decorating, and she doesn’t like scavenger hunts or any other little kid games. we’re going bowling, then the party, and a sleepover after that.

Thanks for the help!

Answer by Thegustaffa
Here’s an idea: ask the 11 year old what she likes. If you go overboard, you’re likely going to embarass your sister, regardless of your intent. Parties for older kids tend to have NO decorating, just friends spending quality time together. Maybe simple is the idea you’re not getting.

Maybe you don’t have to (and shouldn’t) do anything. But ask your sister if she has any ideas she’d like.

pirate birthday party ideas?

Question by ash: pirate birthday party ideas?
hello, so I have two children a boy and a girl and there b-days are only one day apart. my daughter is turning 5 and my son is turning 3. I am having their party’s at he same time, and I decided to have a pirate party. I am gonna go to the dollar store and get 10 plastic swords, and 10 cloth pirate hats…. I figured the first activity could be decorating he hats, you know pink bones for the girls white bone stickers for the boys etc… and then the 10 kids can wear the hats and swords and head to the back yard for a treasure hunt. I plan on having one chest full of the Chocolate gold coins, and another with small cheap treasures like play rings, whistles, etc… and of course we will have maps. But I was wondering what would be another good game? or do I need another? pinata maybe??? and what kind of food could I serve that’s pirate? any suggestions. Should I try to get pirate pic true frames, and send them home with the kids w/ a pic inside from the party? any suggestions are cool.

It sounds like that is going to be SO cute. I might do that for my daughter come her next birthday she loves pirates. Anyway, if I were you I would try to find a pinata, maybe something that looks like a ship if you can find it?
Maybe try to find a Jolly Roger flag to fly as part of your decorations. I don’t know what you may have planned for a cake but a local grocery store where I live (its a Winn Dixie if you have those in your area) has a really cute cake the looks like the deck of a pirate ship. It would be super cute. I found a few good links to games and other ideas that I think will help you. Have a great time!
